Meri ‘paunch’ dur dur tak hai

a) Motivation to have six packs to impress a cute girl in the class, b) Guilt of spending thousands of rupees in a gym, c) Awkwardness of holding breath while getting your picture clicked d) Making fun of your own paunch with my friends (like in the title of this post) None of these has really worked to help me to continue my health programs which I have persistently undertaken in the past and which have miserably failed. So, what’s next? Find one more instigation? Or another list of 5 reasons why should I take care of my health (yawn)? I am sure even this will fail.. No!! , this is not being pessimistic. This is facing reality… the truth is I am yet to find a ‘good reason’ why should I invest my time and effort, (I have already invested lots of money) in health? Let say I find another ‘Good reason’ today, what is the assurance that this will not fail? Like all other ‘Good reasons’ which I have mentioned above. Everything sounds good when it first comes to your mind then with time it loses it ostentation and there it fails. Another way is, to stop being health freak and live life as it comes like all other fellow Gujratis live majja ni life, this has been life mantra so far, but it has done no good so far and there are no reasons why it will help me in future…. sob sob sob ,

But.. Life has something good in store for me, unintentionally my desire has merged with my passion, and now I don’t run in a gym looking at some red numbers (anyways I didn’t do it for longtime) now I go running out on roads admiring nature (passion no.1) and the I have integrated technology to my running sessions (passion no.2), I have my Gps enabled phone, tracking my speed, distance, time, calorie burnt etc.. While I run, and then I Upload it on my tracker where I can store and share with others my daily workout regimes and in real time can see it plotted on the map/satellite view online., and also recently I have discovered an amazing service online (at damm cheap rates. (www.chihealth.com) on this site I have a team of online doctors ( dietician, physio, physician) guiding me on my diet, workouts and wellbeing; these doctors are available for consultation 24X7 online/phone/sms/emails to guide me through in each and every step of my expedition, I can track my daily activities and my diet online my personnel record is saved online for me and them to review and to guide me further, I think this is an amazing service…

I am really excited about integration of my desire with my likings which was missing in past , that’s the reason I am hoping this pursuit will last forever. And of course things which I would be doing to achieve my goal I have decided to post on this blog ….

Lets start ....

So today is the day, I have decided to start my new blog on my health pursuit, today is also Ganesh chathurthi, it may sound ironical what Lord ganesha has to do with Health whose staple diet is ladoos (sweet), and also is known for his shortcut to revolve around the globe ( no offence intended….) but let me describe Lord ganesha in few words and its relevance to my health

Ganesha's head symbolizes the Atman or the soul, which is the ultimate supreme reality of human existence - that means I have to work my soul out , and his human body signifies Maya or the earthly existence of human beings -my outer body my muscles, bones, skin etc.. In his upper right hand Ganesha holds a goad, which helps him propel mankind forward on the eternal path and remove obstacles from the way. - I am sure there are lots of obstacles coming my way like my excuses, injury, rain, sun, cold….. etc.. etc…I will definitely need help overcoming them . The broken tusk that Ganesha holds like a pen in his lower right hand is a symbol of sacrifice, which he broke for writing the Mahabharata- sacrificing high calorie delicious food and my morning sleep ZZZZZZ. The rosary in his other hand suggests that the pursuit of knowledge should be continuous- No workout is possible without right knowledge also it makes it easier and faster. The laddoo (200 calories!!) he holds in his trunk indicates that one must discover the sweetness of the Atman I think Atma is the only place I should be storing sweetness!!!!!! .. The snake that runs round his waist represents energy in all forms. Do I say any thing more (?)

So here I am starting (again) my pursuit for healthy life, wish me luck………
